FAQ'S

Am I candidate for vasectomy reversal?

No matter how many years have gone by at any point after vasectomy men are candidates for vasectomy reversal surgery. However, there are certain conditions such as blockage within the abdomen usually from prior surgery or trauma that may prevent reversal.

What can I expect after the procedure?

The procedure is done as an outpatient surgery. Patients will have small incisions on the scrotum. The recovery period is usually a few days at home relaxing with return to work in 1 week or so. Most men are able to resume sexual activity around 2 weeks following the surgery. It can take several months for sperm to return to the ejaculate depending on the type of reconnection that the patient had.

Ensuring the best chance of success

To ensure optimal surgical technique, Dr. Miller performs a double layer technique that is proven to have the best outcomes for patients. Additionally, fluid from the vas deferens is analyzed in the operating room to assess for patency of the tubes on the testicle side as these can be closed down

Is this covered by my insurance?

Unfortunately, most insurances do not cover this procedure. At Las Vegas Urology we strive to keep costs for patients as low as possible for our patients. Pricing will be discussed at your consultation with Dr. Miller.
